Open Market Option |
| |
Exercising an “Open Market Option” is all about using your right, to shop around to see if any other provider can offer a better income than your existing pension provider from the fund value built up under your private or additional pension provision. This can be done either by yourself or better still via an IFA such as ourselves who will search the market and obtain the best rate for you.
This can be particularly beneficial if during your working life you have accumulated several small pension plans. Rather than just accepting the small pensions which may be provided from each plan and receiving small sums on different days, you can use an Open Market option to consolidate all the small funds together. This way you can buy just one annuity , consolidating your monthly income, helping make your life easier t the same time, often improving the total income you receive! |
| |
By allowing us to shop around on your behalf not only will you save yourself time and effort but we could give you a “payrise” for the rest of your life.
Should you have medical problems we may even be able to get you a larger income. The actual improvement we may be able to make may be less than this and will depend on factors such as just how competitive your existing provider is, your age, sex and health.

With such valuable benefits to be gained, you may be surprised to learn that according to a survey carried out by the Association of British Insurers 2005, only 52% of people shop around for a better rate! This lost opportunity could add up to thousands of pounds each year, for the rest of your life.
